Welcome to this sister site of Psionflexi.co.uk which is dedicated to the replacement of Revo/Mako batteries. Following the success of the flexi's and a large number of enquiries about Revo power problems I have decided to branch out into this area too.
The Problem
The Revo has significantly different battery/power arrangements to the series 5 machines. Considerably more advanced 'coulomb counting' techniques are used in the Revo in order to allow the use an internal rechargable battery and to eliminate the need for a backup battery. To be honest I don't understand why as there is nothing wrong with a backup battery or replaceable batteries - still, we can but wonder!
Unfortunately, despite the advanced battery/power management these machines still have problems with batteries. Predominantly this is simply due to the age of the batteries. All batteries are 'lifed' and a couple of years is pretty good for a cheap set of imported cells. The most common symptoms that indicate that the batteries need to be replaced are:-

Machine will no longer recharge from the mains. The green charge light appears but I am unable to switch on the unit

Machine seems to charge fully but the batteries last less than 2 hours

The machine will only stay on if plugged into the mains

The machine frequently completely resets to factory setting
This is not an exhaustive list but essentially if you are having battery/power problem then it is VERY likely to be the battery pack. The advanced design and reliability of the power/charging circuit mean that it is very unlikely to be anything else. I am investigating another rarely reported problem with these machines that MAY be related to the flexi's on the Revo's so watch this space.
My New Battery Packs
The battery pack on the the Revo/Mako is NOT simply 2 batteries and a connector. I would not recommend trying to replace these yourself unless you have the correct tools, expert skill and the correct replacement parts. Much of the military equipment that I design is portable/battlefield equipment and hence uses batteries. These are usually advanced chemistry types with very advanced chargers/controller. I have used my military contacts to research the relatively simple design of the Revo and bring you an improved pack. Please note that unlike some other companies ALL PARTS of these packs are brand new and sourced from approved suppliers. The cells are NOT cheap imported types and are designed for reliability over a wide temperature range and environmental conditions.

For ease of processing you can order Revobattery.co.uk replacement packs directly from the Psionflexi.co.uk web site/order form. Prices are inclusive of postage and packing. Full installation instructions are available from the 'fitting and opening' section of the Psionflexi.co.uk web site. Fitting of the battery packs is much easier that fitting a flexi and does not require and soldering or special equipment. However, it is significantly easier to fit/replace the batteries with one of my Spring Hooks which are also available to order.
